When buying or selling online it is important to be vigilant at all times in order to protect your security, safety and identity. Please be aware of the following scams and fraudulent activities targeted towards both online buyers and sellers.

When Buying or Selling
If the price of the car is considerably lower than other similar vehicles then stop and consider why
You should be able to speak directly with the buyer or seller. If you can't then consider why
Check the content of any emails received from buyers or sellers, does it look suspicious?
Be cautious of emails which contain incorrect spelling, grammar, or request personal information
If you have any queries or suspicions about a buyer or seller, search the web for known references
Never click on a link in an email if you do not know who it's come from or don't trust the source

When Buying
When buying a vehicle, never hand over any money before you’ve seen the car in person
Be caution if cash is their only accepted form of payment
You should avoid giving out personal information over email
When buying a vehicle, check if the seller has a landline number
Only arrange to view the vehicle at the sellers home or registered business address
When Selling
Don't let a potential buyer test drive your car alone
Always keep hold of your keys when changing seats during a test drive
Never release the vehicle until full payment has been received and funds cleared by your bank
Consider accepting payment inside a bank for your own safety
